Exams

In the middle of exams these days..with 3 down and 6 to go things are looking OK..

I can’t say they are looking too good..

I had physics today..and I stayed in the exam room for the longest I have ever stayed in my life..

Which is totally freaky..and that is why I am quitting physics and moving over to the much easier subject called Geography..

The grass is looking much greener on that side of the hill at this time..and I know from a few “insiders” that its pretty easy..

Now all I have to do is tell the physics teacher how much I enjoyed learning about lenses,electromagnetic waves, and chromatic aberration..

Then I have to go over to the geography teacher and tell her to put my name on her class list..

Physics teacher will understand..I hope..

I have known her since I moved to this school..which is grade 8 …so she should understand..

She might say something like…you could do it you just need to work harder…but I am tired of stuff I will never use in my life..

Seriously..Will it help me to know how light goes into water and comes out of water..

I don’t think its important…Now its very interesting knowing all these stuff.. that’s why I prefer to study it alone..

Now tomorrow I have literature..and with this years new teacher I have to study for the exam (never bothered myself studying for literature)…

And It’s Wednesday Finally

Wednesday is here…basically the last day of the week..

Also today we had the student council elections..where we elect students to change our school…

Anyway….the important thing here is that we had to sit on the CLEAN school ground..oops I really meant filthy…

There were liquids, sand, trash, dead leaves…etc…It was disgusting..and really matched well with the dark red skirts we wear for the school uniform…

Oh I forgot to mention we were sitting outside …NO CHAIRS…I am pretty sure that with the thousands of riyals we pay as tuition can allow them to rent chairs and benches and even tables enough for the whole school and more..

But WELCOME TO MANARAT here..

It’s a wonderful school where the desks don’t match the walls are dirty and …well the bathrooms have no soap and toilet paper..

YES WELCOME Y’ALL TO MANARAT!!!!

Is This The REAL PRICE?

What would you do if you were in the mall with a person coming from a culture where you must bargain?

Well here’s what I did…

So we walk into Claire’s and I find a wallet I want…( I think it was about $8)

So the person with me (I’m in charge of helping her out and showing her around lets name her #1 ) goes “Is this the REAL PRICE?”

So I’m like “Ummm..let me see the price tag…*looks at price tag* Oh ya that’s the price, unless it says clearance than the price on the tag is the REAL PRICE..”

She goes “OK..”

She sees another item and yet again she asks me “Is this the REAL PRICE?”

*Looks at tag strangely..*

 *Thinking to myself…  ”Doesn’t say clearance so why is she asking?”

I reply ” Well yes it is the REAL PRICE”

I go back to looking at stuff..and choose the wallet and decide to buy it…

I walk out and wait outside for #1…

She comes out and asks me… “How much did that wallet cost?”

I go “Oh, $8″

She’s like “$8 wait, *she calculates in her mind*,YOU ACTUALLY SPENT 30 RIYALS ON THAT WALLET?”

I say “Yes”

She says, “Did you pay the REAL PRICE?”

I’m like ” There are no real prices and fake prices you pay whats on the tag…whatever the tag says you pay that much money, grab the receipt and walk out.”

She goes,”WOW! You just wasted lots of money, you could have told that lady to lower these expensive prices”

*Starts dragging me back into the store to bargain with the clerk*

I take my bag and run away…Hoping the people won’t notice we are both wearing our “head gear” (Hijab)  and were walking together a little while ago…

I remain a distance far enough to see her and notice that she didn’t go into the shop…I soon run back and tell her how wrong it is to bargain in a country like America..

Now I went to a shop here they call the “Two riyal shop” with #1 and she bargains with the dude until we get all our goods for ten riyals ($2.66)  less than the price stated on the goods..Good bargain to her but it still embarrasses me here too…

2010..?

It’s 2010 now…NO I AM NOT CELEBRATING NEW YEARS..

Time went by so fast..I’m still forgetting that its 2009 and now it’s 2010..what have I done this past year thats worthy of mention?

I can’t believe it’s actually 2010..

A year just past with the blink of an eye..and now..I wonder if 2010 will be more of the same..

I hope that inshallah ..something really new and interesting will happen this year..Inshallah with this year I’ll improve myself and my grades..

Well then here comes 2010..
